Tracking questions
Why can’t my tracking reference be found?
If your reference cannot be found:
- check that it has been entered exactly as supplied;
- confirm that you are using the correct waybill, tracking or shipment reference;
- allow time for a newly collected shipment to enter the tracking system; and
- contact Wyvern Freight if the reference remains unavailable.
For some courier services, tracking information may only become available after dispatch or after the shipment has received its first operational scan.
What does “In transit” mean?
In transit means the shipment is moving through the transport network toward its destination.
The status may remain unchanged while the parcel or cargo is travelling between depots, cities, border points or delivery locations.
It does not necessarily mean the shipment is stationary.
What does “At border or customs” mean?
Cross-border parcels and shipments may require customs or regulatory processing before they can continue.
Processing time can depend on:
- shipment documentation;
- declared value;
- product description;
- duties and taxes;
- permits or approvals;
- customs assessment; and
- the route being used.
Missing documents, unclear values, permits, unpaid duties, incomplete descriptions or inspections may delay clearance. If additional information is required, Wyvern Freight or the relevant service provider may contact the sender, recipient or authorised customer.
What does “Out for delivery” mean?
Out for delivery means the shipment has reached the local delivery operation and is scheduled for final delivery.
Delivery may still be affected by:
- recipient availability;
- address or access issues;
- route conditions;
- operational delays; or
- other delivery exceptions.
What does “Delivered” mean?
When tracking shows Delivered, the shipment has been recorded as delivered.
Depending on the service used, additional delivery information may include:
- delivery date;
- delivery time;
- recipient or delivery location; and
- proof of delivery.
For business customers, proof-of-delivery information may also be available through the relevant customer service or account channel.
What does “Delivery exception” mean?
A delivery exception means something has affected the normal movement or delivery of the shipment.
Examples may include:
- incorrect or incomplete address;
- unsuccessful delivery attempt;
- customs or documentation issue;
- weather or road disruption;
- recipient unavailable;
- operational delay; or
- additional information required.
An exception does not necessarily mean the shipment is lost.
How are international and cross-border parcels tracked?
International shipments may pass through several carriers, facilities or border points before final delivery.
Some movements may therefore have:
- a Wyvern reference;
- a waybill number; and
- a partner-carrier tracking number.
Use the tracking reference supplied with your shipment. Where a separate carrier reference is provided, Wyvern may direct you to the relevant tracking service.
